Master Kiii guides fans on a voyage with his “anemoia” ep
Cape Town lyricist, Master Kiii, finally released his long-awaited EP titled “ANEMOIA” displaying some of the most brilliant poetry we’ve heard from a Capetonian artist in a long time.
The talented wordsmith teamed up with the proficient producer, Andre Loot, to gift us intriguing boom-bap beats with the poet continuously spitting his message over the delightful beats.
Kiii used this EP as a medium for expressing his personal thoughts on everyday state of affairs like spirituality, religion, social constructs, and his experience navigating through the modern world while battling his demons like his individual conflicts such as anxiety and confusion.
Tracks that emphasized this sentiment were “GOOYH”, “Channel”, and “The Witchdoctor”s grandson”, but honestly, the whole project was beautifully constructed to explain a powerful expedition of a young man in South Africa.
We don’t come across too many artists who have adopted this style of Hip-Hop in South Africa and it’s always mesmerizing to experience music of this type. Master Kiii is one of a kind and this project was a blissful listening experience.
